Leah Fanning Mebane surrounds herself with beauty, in her art, her philosophy, and her approach to creation. It was only natural then, when she found herself pregnant with her son, Django, in 2009, that she felt called to renew her dedication to her art while also refining it to ensure it was as safe for her and her growing baby as possible. Mebane began to embark on a mission to rid her studio of all harmful toxins, while still ensuring that she was using the highest quality archival paint possible.
Mebane began to experiment, and a few years after she gave birth to her son, Natural Earth Paint was also born, tasked with the single-minded goal of bringing vibrant, high-quality, Eco-friendly paints to artists young and old alike. The Children’s Earth Paint Kit was one of the original two products carried by Natural Earth Paint, and it has remained one of the most popular items even as the product line has grown and evolved.
Comprised of pure, natural mineral pigments and organic milk proteins, the Children’s Earth Paint Kit contains six richly colored powders that can be mixed with water in a 1:1 ratio to create a thick, tempera-like paint, or water it down a little more to create light watercolors instead.
